Overview
Our Ama Dablam program is led by Marc Subirana, our expert IFMGA mountain guide with extensive experience in the Himalayas. Over 23 days, we combine trekking with an ascent of Kyajo Ri (6,186 m), a less-traveled peak that offers a unique and mystical atmosphere. Ama Dablam + Kyajo Ri
Climb one of the most beautiful mountains in the world
Our expedition focuses on the majestic Ama Dablam, a technically challenging peak in the heart of the Himalayas. To ensure a safe and successful summit, we'll first tackle Kyajo Ri (6,186m) as our acclimatization peak. Both mountains reside in Nepal's Khumbu region, famed for Everest and breathtaking landscapes.
Deep valleys carve through the terrain, dotted with Sherpa villages showcasing unique Himalayan culture. Kyajo Ri offers a less technical climb than Ama Dablam, allowing our bodies to adjust to the altitude while rewarding us with stunning panoramic views. This crucial acclimatization process prepares us for the challenges of Ama Dablam's steep rock faces and exposed ridges.
The Khumbu's beauty and cultural richness, combined with the thrill of climbing, make this expedition an unforgettable journey towards our ultimate goal: Ama Dablam.

FAQs
What's your cancellation policy?
First and foremost, we recommend that all participants obtain cancellation insurance in case you need to cancel your trip, experience flight delays that cause you to arrive late for the activity, or encounter any other unexpected issues.
You will have the possibility to cancel the Tour in accordance with the following indemnity scheme (refunded or to be paid depending on whether the payment was made and received):
100% Refund: If cancellation is notified in writing via email to Kookoo Climb up to 90 days before the first day of the Tour (minus a 10% administration fee, so we will refund 90% of the total).
50% Refund: If cancellation is notified in writing via email to Kookoo Climb between 89 and 60 days before the first day of the Tour (minus a 10% administration fee, so we will refund 40% of the total).
0% Refund: If cancellation is notified in writing via email to Kookoo Climb 59 days or less before the first day of the Tour.
If bad weather or unsuitable conditions force the guide to cancel the trip, Kookoo Climb will:
a) propose to postpone the activity until a later date, or b) cancel. If you refuse option a), the cancellation policy will apply. Please note, however, that the call to cancel a trip due to bad weather can only be made by the guide (not the client). Under exceptional circumstances, the company could, however, decide at his sole discretion to refund the client (minus the transaction fee).
If during the program it becomes necessary to hire additional services to avoid a stage or part of it, this will be considered an extra payment to be divided among all participants. This may be due to weather conditions on the days of the activity, or an earlier circumstance such as a storm, snow, or natural disaster that has altered the terrain, making it impractical on the scheduled day. Any additional costs arising from these changes, if they exceed the original price, will be covered by the participants.
If I come on my own, can I be part of a group?
Absolutely! To ensure a highly personalized experience, this trip is limited to 2-4 participants. The advertised price is based on a group of 4. For groups smaller than 4, the price per person will be:
- For a group of 3 participants: €11,600pp
- For a group of 2 participants: €15,500pp
Do I need previous experience in climbing or mountaineering to do the climb?
This program is for participants who have experience in high altitude and alpine environments. Ideal for those who've climbed 4000m peaks before, such as Mont Blanc, Matterhörn or others.
We will provide some technical gear such as ropes, carabiners, belay devices, etc.
You will need to bring the rest of your personal gear, such as harness, helmet, B3 alpine boots, crampons, ice axe, clothes, etc. After booking your spot, we will send you a complete kit list for the expedition.
