Overview

Have you been climbing indoor walls or are you a complete beginner wanting to experience rock climbing on real rock? This is your chance to learn outdoor rock climbing techniques first-hand. In our coaching sessions, conducted by a certified and very experienced RCI (Rock Climbing Instructor), you'll learn how to rope up correctly, use equipment safely, and optimize your body movements to conserve energy while climbing. Additionally, you'll gain the skills to abseil independently. Also, you'll explore the climbing area, understanding the dynamics of a crag, enjoy the social aspects, and learn how routes are set based on rock features and how to read the rock and its lines. We will climb single pitch sport routes with bolts or possibly head to a trad climbing area, depending on the weather and the location of the activity.

Morning

When we arrive at the climbing crag, we’ll start by introducing ourselves and getting to know each other. We’ll then go over the climbing gear we’ll be using for the day, ensuring everyone is familiar with the equipment. After that, we’ll give you a brief introduction to the climbing spot, sharing some insights about the routes we’ll be tackling.

Before we start climbing, we’ll lead a short warm-up session to get everyone ready and to help prevent injuries. Once we’re warmed up, we’ll split into smaller groups, to begin climbing different routes that are suited to your experience level.

Lunch: Around 12 noon, we’ll take a 45-minute break for lunch. This is a great time to relax, refuel, and chat with your fellow climbers about the morning’s experiences.

Afternoon

After lunch, we’ll return to the rock for more climbing. As you gain confidence, we’ll explore new routes and challenges. If time allows and the location is suitable, we’ll also introduce you to abseiling from the top of the wall, giving you a taste of descending safely and efficiently.

By the end of the day, you’ll have covered a lot of ground (and rock!). You’ll have learned essential skills like tying knots, roping up, belaying your partner, and climbing independently in top-rope mode. Plus, you’ll know how to safely abseil with a single rope from any wall—a crucial skill for any climber.

Whether you're a complete beginner or have some climbing experience, you’ll leave with a solid foundation of skills and a sense of accomplishment. And, of course, some great memories of a day spent in the beautiful outdoors!
